Who Jesus Is
-
What you will hear
Jehovah created Jesus first, and then created everything else through him.
Hebrews 1 applies the psalm about the LORD, the unchanging Creator, to the Son. John 1:3 leaves nothing that exists apart from the Word.

But about the Son, he says: “God is your throne forever and ever, and the scepter of your Kingdom is the scepter of uprightness.
9You loved righteousness, and you hated lawlessness. That is why God, your God, anointed you with the oil of exultation more than your companions.”
10And: “At the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the works of your hands.
11They will perish, but you will remain; and just like a garment, they will all wear out,
12and you will wrap them up just as a cloak, as a garment, and they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will never come to an end.”

What you will hear
The Father is greater than Jesus, so Jesus is not God.
The Son’s human life and his place in the work of the Father do not make him a creature. John 5 says the Son is honoured as the Father is.

A Christian objection
The New World Translation (Jehovah’s Witnesses’ Bible) adds the word “other” in Colossians 1:16, so the verse reads as “all other things.”
The Greek says “all things.” The added word is what lets a created Son stand inside a verse about the Creator.
- Colossians 1:16Colossians 1:16 · King James Version

Watchtower teachings do not change. What was published about 1925, 1975, and “this generation” still stands.
The 1920 booklet expected Abraham’s return in 1925. Later articles hedged 1975, redefined “this generation,” and withdrew the organ-transplant ruling.

Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses are the same religion.
They are two churches. Latter-day Saints teach that the Father has a body of flesh and bones. Jehovah’s Witnesses teach that Jesus is not Almighty God. Neither confession is the Trinity.

The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us.
