Atheism
A belief, not a religion. Questions about whether God is real, whether evil rules God out, and whether the resurrection is history.
Atheism, as this shelf uses the word, is the belief that God does not exist, or that the public evidence does not justify believing that God exists. It is not a religion. The people in the conversation are not a church, and they are not one club. Some are certain. Some are unconvinced. Some are angry about harm done in God’s name, and that anger can be the most honest thing in the room. Do not treat those as the same sentence.
Start with the question they actually asked. If they asked about suffering, do not answer with a cosmological outline. If they asked whether Jesus rose, open a Gospel and 1 Corinthians 15 rather than a speech about “worldviews.”
