Book of Enoch (1 Enoch) 4
Each verse number opens that verse. The numbers follow Charles’s 1917 order. Book of Enoch (1 Enoch) has the history and the issues with this book.
- And again, observe ye the days of summer how the sun is above the earth over against it. And you seek shade and shelter by reason of the heat of the sun, and the earth also burns with growing heat, and so you cannot tread on the earth, or on a rock by reason of its heat.
R. H. Charles, The Book of Enoch (London: SPCK, 1917), public domain. The verse text is the English Wikisource transcription of that translation. Charles’s editorial signs are kept. He rearranges some verses in chapters 5, 39, 90, 91, and 106, so those chapters are not a straight 1, 2, 3 sequence.
