**Not Scripture.** Read [Why](https://apologetics.wiki/non-canonical/3-enoch#research-notice) and [the Issues With This Book](https://apologetics.wiki/non-canonical/3-enoch#issues-with-this-book).

**Venerating Angels or Other Created Things.** Chapters 3–15 tell Enoch transformed into Metatron, enthroned and called “the Lesser YHWH” in chapter 12. Chapter 16 tells how Acher saw him seated and said there are two powers in heaven. [This issue](https://apologetics.wiki/non-canonical/3-enoch#issue-metatron).

R. Ishmael said: Metatron, the Angel, the Prince of the Presence, said to me: When the Holy One, blessed be He, took me away from the generation of the Flood, he lifted me on the wings of the wind of Shekina to the highest heaven and brought me into the great palaces of the ‘Araboth Raqia‘ on high, where are the glorious Throne of Shekina, the Merkaba, the troops of anger, the armies of vehemence, the fiery Shin’anim, the flaming Kerubim, and the burning ’Ophannim, the flaming servants, the flashing Chashmallim and the lightening Seraphim. And he placed me (there) to attend the Throne of Glory day after day.

Not received as Scripture by the Jewish canon or by the major Christian churches, apart from local exceptions such as the Ethiopian Orthodox canon, which includes 1 Enoch and Jubilees. This is not the Apocrypha.
