# 3 Enoch (Hebrew Enoch) 5:8

**Venerating Angels or Other Created Things.** Chapters 3–15 tell Enoch transformed into Metatron, enthroned and called “the Lesser YHWH” in chapter 12. And they brought down the sun, the moon, planets and constellations, and placed them before the idols on their right hand and on their left, to attend them even as they attend the Holy One, blessed be He, as it is written (1 Kings xxii. 19): “And all the host of heaven was standing by him on his right hand and on his left”.

Not received as Scripture by the Jewish canon or by the major Christian churches, apart from local exceptions such as the Ethiopian Orthodox canon, which includes 1 Enoch and Jubilees. This is not the Apocrypha.
