# Secrets of Enoch (2 Enoch, Slavonic Enoch) 48:3

**Not Scripture.** Read [Why](https://apologetics.wiki/non-canonical/2-enoch#research-notice) and [the Issues With This Book](https://apologetics.wiki/non-canonical/2-enoch#issues-with-this-book).

And so the sun goes through all the courses of the heaven; when he goes near the earth, then the earth rejoices and produces its fruit; when he departs, then the earth is sad, and the trees and all the fruits have no development.

Not received as Scripture by the Jewish canon or by the major Christian churches, apart from local exceptions such as the Ethiopian Orthodox canon, which includes 1 Enoch and Jubilees. This is not the Apocrypha.
