# Secrets of Enoch (2 Enoch, Slavonic Enoch) 44:1

**Not Scripture.** Read [Why](https://apologetics.wiki/non-canonical/2-enoch#research-notice) and [the Issues With This Book](https://apologetics.wiki/non-canonical/2-enoch#issues-with-this-book).

God made man with His own hands, in the likeness of His countenance, both small and great the Lord created him. He who reviles the countenance of man, reviles the countenance of the Lord.

Not received as Scripture by the Jewish canon or by the major Christian churches, apart from local exceptions such as the Ethiopian Orthodox canon, which includes 1 Enoch and Jubilees. This is not the Apocrypha.
