# Secrets of Enoch (2 Enoch, Slavonic Enoch) 23:3

**Mysticism or Magic.** Chapter 23 says souls were created before the world, and that Enoch wrote 366 books from an angel’s dictation. The numbers are the 1896 chapter and verse marks in the scan. [This issue](https://apologetics.wiki/non-canonical/2-enoch#issue-secrets-souls).

And Vretil instructed me thirty days and thirty nights, and his lips never ceased speaking; and I did not cease thirty days and thirty nights writing all the remarks?.

Not received as Scripture by the Jewish canon or by the major Christian churches, apart from local exceptions such as the Ethiopian Orthodox canon, which includes 1 Enoch and Jubilees. This is not the Apocrypha.
