Angel numbers, numerology, and tarot treat a repeating number, a chart, or a card as a message about a person’s life. The Bible forbids divination, observing times, and consulting familiar spirits. It does not assign a private message to a repeating digit.

## Key points

- [Deuteronomy 18:10](/bible/deuteronomy/18/10) names “an observer of times,” “an enchanter,” and “a witch” among practices that shall not be found in Israel.
- [Deuteronomy 18:11](/bible/deuteronomy/18/11) adds a charmer, a consulter with familiar spirits, a wizard, and a necromancer.
- [Deuteronomy 18:12](/bible/deuteronomy/18/12) says all who do these things “are an abomination unto the LORD.”
- [Isaiah 47:13](/bible/isaiah/47/13) tells astrologers, stargazers, and monthly prognosticators to stand up and save.
- [Leviticus 19:31](/bible/leviticus/19) says not to regard familiar spirits or wizards.

## What the Bible says

[Deuteronomy 18:10–12](/bible/deuteronomy/18) (King James Version) says:

> There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

[Isaiah 47:13](/bible/isaiah/47/13) (King James Version) says:

> Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.

[Leviticus 19:31](/bible/leviticus/19) tells Israel not to turn to familiar spirits. [Isaiah 8:19](/bible/isaiah/8) asks why a people would seek the dead on behalf of the living when they should seek their God. [John 14:6](/bible/john/14/6) records Jesus: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

This page does not quote a modern angel-number author. Those books were not verified here. The practice people describe, reading a repeating number or a dealt card as guidance, is the kind of observing of times and divination [Deuteronomy 18:10](/bible/deuteronomy/18/10) names.

## The Christian claim

Christians confess that God has spoken in Scripture and in his Son. [Hebrews 1:1–2](/bible/hebrews/1) says God spoke in time past by the prophets and has in these last days spoken by his Son. A digit sequence or a pack of cards is not that speech. Jesus is God the Son. That confession is [the deity of Christ](/christianity/deity-of-christ). [What does the Bible say about witchcraft?](/wicca/witchcraft-and-the-bible) quotes the same Deuteronomy passage beside the Pagan Federation’s words on magic.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does the Bible mention angel numbers?

It does not use that phrase. It forbids divination and observing times ([Deuteronomy 18:10](/bible/deuteronomy/18/10)) and challenges monthly prognosticators ([Isaiah 47:13](/bible/isaiah/47/13)).

### Are tarot and numerology the same verse?

[Deuteronomy 18:10–11](/bible/deuteronomy/18) lists divination, observing times, enchantment, charming, and consulting familiar spirits in one ban. A card reading and a number chart are two modern forms of seeking a hidden message. The verse names the seeking.

### Where should a Christian go for guidance?

[John 14:6](/bible/john/14/6) says Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. [James 1:5](/bible/james/1/5) says if any lacks wisdom, let him ask of God. [Psalm 119:105](/bible/psalms/119) says God’s word is a lamp to the feet.
